Beginner Ceramic Mosaic Workshop

Service Description

In this 2 day mosaic workshop participants will be introduced to basic mosaic making techniques. Students will work on their own 12x12 design using ceramic tiles, beads, and mirror. You will learn about the different adhesives and appropriate surfaces used to create your mosaics, how to properly break and cut tile and the right tools to use. Come prepared to learn, create and have fun. Materials are included in price. Please bring a pair of goggles and garden gloves for your use. I will provide additional tools (not included in fee). There will be a lunch break during each session. Bring your own lunch. Light refreshment and drinks will be served including coffee and pastries. Me and mosaics: I started making mosaics in 2002 while working at a fun place in San Francisco where I got to play and have fun while teaching. While there I was introduced to mosaics by my friend Paola. Since then, I have taken workshops in many places: Italy, Pennsylvania, New York, all to learn from others . I have also had the opportunity to be invited to create mosaic murals with communities I have lived and shared with: San Francisco, El Salvador, my house , and currently Teaneck NJ. People asked for this class so here it is! I hope you can join us. Minimum 2 participants, maximum 5.
