Summer Youth Pottery on the wheel

Service Description

This is a fun class for pre teens to be introduced to pottery on the wheel. We will meet for 5 weeks once a week for two hours. Students will learn to center clay and form a cylinder which is the basis for other shapes. We will learn to make handles for mugs, apply basic decorating techniques, and use glazes. As students continue to practice their centering and throwing skills, other shapes will be introduced. Classes are small and designed for individual attention so that each student can develop skills in a relaxed environment. Ages 12-15. Meets on Tuesday August 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 from 10:30 to 12:30.
